The bottom plate supports the columns, producing a secure base to guide your foot through the heel-to-toe transition. The columns control impact by collapsing quickly at first, and then slowly returning to their original height. The transition wedge allows for a smooth ride from the Nike Shox cushioning system in the heel to the Air-Sole unit found in the forefoot.
